Successfully launched and now fitted to several fleets around the world, Pegasus heralds a new era. Frequently being subjected to accelerations approaching 100G, dampers must perform continuously whilst the train is in motion. Primary dampers are often the first component to fail on a bogie. This requires vehicles to be removed from service while failed dampers are identified and changed, and all too often, identification of a failed damper is a hit and miss affair.

The importance of fitting a quality damper cannot be overstated. Wheel tyre wear, bogie fatigue, brake equipment wear, are all influenced by the wheel to rail interface, acknowledged by engineers as one of the prime causes in the determination of bogie life between overhauls. Ultimately requiring extensive and expensive rectification.

Pegasus 9000 Series
Complemented by the Pegasus 9100 Series of dampers designed for lighter applications on LRV applications.

Based on tried and tested principles, the 9000 Series has been designed to provide a direct replacement for most rail applications.

Specifically designed for the arduous primary suspension applications, secondary and lateral dampers are also available in the Pegasus range.

The 9000 Series is a special heavy duty design for high speed, intercity trains, suburban and commuter trains travelling high mileages at high speeds.

Supplied complete with mountings, the Pegasus dampers are a like for like replacement for most applications.

If your original dampers are now approaching life expiry, the benefit of fitting new dampers will last for many years.

All 9000 Series dampers can be rebuilt, therefore at the end of each working life they can be refurbished to new performance.

3rd Rail Current Collection

Current collection comes in many forms but its operation is always critical. A continuous smooth contact is essential and our actively damped collector gear provides the optimum interface whatever your electrified rail’s specification.

Simplicity is the concept for this modular design. All aspects are individually tailored to your exact requirements including shoe profile, frangibility strength, mounting, load application force and rise/fall and cant requirements.

Our optional electro-pneumatic system offers full retractability and is incorporated to the ride control system in a unique design. Hydraulic ride control modules lean on our decades of experience in dynamic control to ensure unbeatable reliability. Just where you need it most.

Height-Limit Beams and Tripcock beams are also regularly manufactured for the UK market to existing specifications. Many versions are available and any requirements can be catered for.

Brake Systems

With a range from drivers cab brake valves to blocks and pads at the other end, we can integrate your system.

Our brake equipment is based on the tried and tested Oerlikon design and has been manufactured under license for many years. The concept is particularly useful where low maintenance is crucial, the simplicity aids a long and reliable service.

In addition to existing designs Sabre Rail manufactures a bespoke range of brake cylinders, slack adjusters and valves. Our in house design team can develop modifications to existing units, full systems or just upgrade certain parts of your system to achieve greater reliability. All equipment is UIC/Network Rail approved where applicable.

Individual components can be manufactured to your requirements, and we also supply spare parts for almost every type of brake equipment.
